About Chabad-Lubavitch

Chabad-Lubavitch is a vibrant global Jewish movement rooted in timeless Torah values and guided by boundless love for every Jew. The name “Chabad” is an acronym for Chochmah (wisdom), Binah (understanding), and Da’at (knowledge) — reflecting an approach that blends intellectual depth with heartfelt connection. For more than 250 years, Chabad has been dedicated to strengthening Jewish identity, inspiring meaningful living, and making Judaism accessible, joyful, and relevant to every generation.

Under the leadership of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the movement expanded into a worldwide network of shluchim — emissaries who devote their lives to serving Jewish communities around the globe. These dedicated couples establish centers for prayer, study, celebration, and care, reaching Jews wherever they may be — with warmth, dignity, and unconditional love.

At its core, however, Chabad is driven by something even greater.

Our ultimate mission is to transform the world into a dwelling place for G‑d — through acts of kindness, Torah study, and the fulfillment of mitzvot. We believe the world is moving toward redemption: a time when Moshiach will usher in an era of peace, tranquility, and Divine awareness — when moral clarity will prevail and “the knowledge of G‑d will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea.”

Today, thousands of Chabad emissaries serve in over 100 countries, creating vibrant Jewish life in cities large and small, on campuses, in hospitals, and in communities everywhere.

Every good deed hastens that reality. Every mitzvah brings light. Every soul has a role in preparing the world for that future.
